Please tell us why you joined the company.
I'm originally from the Philippines. He was studying business administration at a university in the Philippines, but he came to Japan because he wanted to work with people.
I wasn't very good at Japanese and didn't know how to get the job I wanted, but I gained experience by working as an AET (Assistant English Teacher) at a school in Kumagaya and studying nursing care in Omiya, and was hired by a temporary staffing company. I was able to join Hydrangea through an introduction.
What do you find interesting, rewarding, and joyful in your work?
I work both day and night shifts. As a care worker, you will not only be responsible for taking care of the users, such as eating, using the toilet, and bathing, but you will also be responsible for facility operations, such as taking inventory at the end of each month.
What makes me the happiest is when I hear "thank you" from our users. I find it rewarding to be able to help people.
We talk about various things with our users, but food is the one we talk about the most.
How do you feel about the working environment?
I have worked at various facilities within the group, and I feel that we have created an environment where we can work together and follow each other.
I have two days off a week, so I have plenty of time to spend with my family and children.
I was grateful that the company understood that I had small children and was able to make it easier for me to work. Many of my co-workers are mothers who are raising children.
Please give a message to those who are job hunting.
All of the staff at Hydrangea are kind, so if you are interested, please come and have a look. I think Hydrangea is a comfortable working environment for foreigners as well. It's an international workplace, in a good way.
I am able to engage in welfare work, which was my goal, and every day is fulfilling. From now on, I will do my best to pass the nursing care worker exam!
